ABOUT THE CUSTOMER
The client runs an online members-only store for retail buyers and individual collectors interested in buying high-end sneakers at wholesale rates. The client sources products from manufacturers and ships them directly to their customers.
THE PROBLEM
While the client runs an online Shopify store for retail buying. Given the high basket value of bulk transactions, the client wanted to avoid paying the Shopify transaction fee. They also wanted to implement certain checkout features only available via paid third party integrations in Shopify. Adding to the overall cost of running the online bulk store.
THE SOLUTION
A decision was therefore taken to implement a Bulk ordering portal built on React and Node allowing customers to place and track orders outside Shopify, whilst managing product inventories in Shopify.
